have a wonderful valentine’s day.

while you were out.

September 20, 2010

just think, while you’re at work on this monday,
your dog is at home doing this.

isn’t he just the cutest?

getting a little excited because tomorrow begins my two week trip up the western coast.

first stop san francisco, with portland and seattle following shortly behind…. and a few other places along the way.

i‘m a lucky girl because i have family and friends dotted along the coast who are graciously allowing me to stay with them, and kindly pointing me in the right direction… whichever way that may be.

i just feel like a traveling fool lately.  magnificently foolish.

another year.

August 20, 2010

so i’m twenty-six today.

and i must say that i do feel a year older.

not in a bad way… quite the opposite in fact.  just older.

thank you to everyone who helped make 25 such an incredible year, it wouldn’t have been the same without you.

amsterdam is crazy. when you arrive at the central train station you are dropped off into the midst of trams and trains and canals and bicycles.  oh, the bicycles!

it’s a beautiful town to wander around and get lost in, but it was nice at the end of the day to actually leave the craziness for the calm relaxation of the lake right outside of the city where we were staying.

the city and the surrounding area (and pretty much the whole country) is made up of an intricate system of canals, which we enjoyed on a three hour boat tour into and around the city.  here are a few pictures of our adventures in amsterdam.

we also met some of the most interesting and nicest people in amsterdam.  it really is a city that is aware of, and celebrates, their eccentricities… which was very refreshing.

camp or build a fort?

April 9, 2010

my friend céline and i are currently sitting across from each other trying to do some work, albeit poorly since it is so nice outside and because we are talking about finding a place somewhere around paris where we can go camping.  our plans have reached a detour, however, since we do not have a tent/sleeping bag/anything else that makes camping possible.

but…

we can always build a fort!

advent post #12

December 12, 2009

today is the ‘other‘ day a year that your santa claus costume comes out of the closet.

it’s SantaCon in new york!

in case you don’t know what that is, these pictures will help you to understand.  basically it’s when hundreds if not thousands of people dress up like santa claus and walk around the city.  it’s pretty amazing. and fun.

so, if you are in new york, put on that suit and just look around you (you’re bound to see a few).
go!
