indigo blues
February 2, 2011
the indigo dyeing process is long and relies on a fermentation process which differs from that of other colors. it’s no wonder the end result can be so intense and beautiful. it’s one of the oldest dyes used for textiles and is thought to have started in india, but through trade indigo has made it’s way around the world, and has played an intrinsic part in the history of many cultures.

January 29, 2011
it has been a very long time since my last post; for a variety of reasons, my mind has been elsewhere.
this doesn’t mean that i wasn’t saving pictures or thinking of things to post… in fact, my desktop is littered with images, and it’s driving me a little crazy. i‘ve grouped some of them into clusters that i will try posting within the next week or so.
…and i do apologize to those of you who keep reminding me of the date of my last post… you know who you are.

a little fun on the side
September 17, 2010
as some of you know i’ve been working on some side projects of my own since i’ve been home, mostly to do with textiles.
well, i’ve also been working on some side to those side projects… really just playing around until i’m inspired to do something else.
both turned out to be a little fanciful and playful.
