basilique du sacré-cœur

P1050047P1050058P1050060P1050067P1050053one of the best views in paris is in the montmartre district from the basilique du sacré-cœur.

so one sunny day, me and my little camera hiked (there are quite a few steps) up the hill and took some pictures.

though the area is packed with tourists and street artists wanting to draw your portrait, it is still fun to wander the streets and wonder what it was like before the crowds.

the day i went, there was an open air market with stalls that represented various regions in france as well as surrounding countries.  but, i think, above all else, i enjoyed the woman playing her accordion under her flower umbrella the best.
